Spec Industrial Construction on the Rise in Central Ohio, Reversing recent trends

Central Ohio saw a rise in speculative industrial construction last quarter. Nearly 2 million square feet of spec product was under construction, a significant increase from the 830,000 square feet under construction in Q1.

What PUCO's Decision on AEP Case Means for Center Projects in Central Ohio

The approved proposal, which also was supported by the Ohio Consumers' Counsel and the PUCO staff, requires "large" new data center customers to pay for a minimum of 85% of the energy they request, even if they use less, to cover the costs of infrastructure needed to bring electricity to those facilities, AEP Ohio said in a press release. The plan includes a sliding scale that gives smaller facilities more flexibility.

Defense Tech Startup Anduril Chooses Central Ohio for Major Expansion

Anduril Industries Inc. executive Zachary Mears knows Ohio, but the Buckeye State is still getting acquainted with the upstart defense technology company, as is the rest of the nation. Mears is a defense industry veteran, having worked
in top positions at the Pentagon and advised aerospace and defense clients at the law firm Covington& Burling LLP. He’s now the senior vice president of strategy for Anduril, a rapidly growing company that has promised to create 4,000 jobs at its planned manufacturing site near Rickenbacker International Airport, Arsenal-1.
